We traveled to Franklin, North Carolina this past weekend for my sister's wedding. It was a beautifully blessed event, and I so wish I had pictures to show of the bride, groom and flower girl! While I am waiting on the photos, I thought I would share some interesting pictures and stories of our travels.
Arriving to our destination last week was a little scary. As many of you know, we traveled through the storm and tornadoes that swept through Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas. Our flight was delayed out of Dallas giving us some time to miss some of it. When we arrived in Atlanta late Wednesday night we still had a 3 hour drive up to Franklin, North Carolina. We had to make a pit stop for the pregnant lady and landed upon the first original Chick-fil-a. I don't think I have seen Cliff so excited...
As we left Chick-fil-a, after buying a few goodies including a some stuffed cows, we received weather reports from family thinking we had missed the majority of the storm. I was a little relieved, but still nervous about our drive. Cliff and Dad were ready to see a tornado...crazies. As we were driving about 20 minutes outside of Franklin, we were stopped by parked cars and debris. A tornado had just passed through this area and the roads were impassible. Praise the Lord, we were not at the scene any earlier. Sometimes delays are God's way of protecting us from the disaster that awaits. Please keep the families affected by the storms in your prayers.
We did finally arrive to our destination the following day after spending the night in a motel where the tornado hits. Even though I did have dreams of tornadoes all night, we did get some much needed rest. Especially Grace. Here are some photos and events I do have from the wedding weekend.
